Announces Contract With Chorus NTL And 45 New Jobs for Waterford
Sunday, December 7, 2008:
Rigneydolphin, the Waterford-based call centre firm, has announced a
new contract with UPC, the parent company of Chorus ntl.
The contract is focused on further
developing sales of UPC’s product range; cable and digital TV, voice
and broadband.
Celine Fitzgerald, CEO of
Rigneydolphin Group said: “We are excited to be working with global
leaders such as UPC. Our recent string of new contract wins has been a
direct result of Rigneydolphin’s commitment to our clients and the
calibre of our people. It also demonstrates the strength of Waterford
and the South East’s popularity as the preferred location for high-end
contact centre services.”
Martin Cullen, TD, Minister for Arts,
Sports and Tourism said: “Today is another success story for Waterford
through the creation of jobs in the locality and the commitment by
Rigneydolphin and UPC Ireland in establishing this partnership. In a
changing society, supporting partnerships such as this are necessary
and the services both companies provide are important for the region.”
The new win follows a successful run
for the Rigneydolphin Group, having opened a brand new €5 million state
of the art contact centre at the IDA Industrial Estate in Waterford
last year. The new contract with UPC, which is worth €2 million, sees
the creation of 45 jobs at the Rigneydolphin Waterford site.
Robert Dunn, CEO of UPC Ireland said:
“UPC has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Waterford and its
citizens for over thirty years. This announcement is an excellent
example of two corporations partnering to better serve our community
and customers and create new jobs in the South East Region.”
A key element of this partnership is to use the sales channel
Rigneydophin provides in its contact centre in Waterford to promote and
sell the products and services UPC markets throughout the country.

supports UNICEF at the Sex and The City gala event
Given that Sarah Jessica Parker is an existing UNICEF
ambassador, we wanted to do something to mark the release of the movie.
So on June 5th, 400 gorgeous ladies, and a handful of brave men,
descended upon Cineworld for a private UNICEF screening of Sex &
The City.
After the guests walked the Red
Carpet and collected their Goodie Bags (with Newbridge Jewellery,
chocolate, nibbles, perfume, CD and lots more) they were welcomed to
the cinema by Gerry Ryan.
Following the movie, the guests made
the short trip to The Church on Jervis Street to attend the Aftershow
party. The night was fun and glam, with lots of prizes, drinks, finger
food, chocolates, more prizes, more chocolates…!!
Pretty Polly set up a massage
and manicure area in the venue, where guests could go treat themselves
to a quick therapy, giving back a small sum of their choice to UNICEF.

4 Peak Challenge
This
year an eager team from Rigney Dolphin committed their May bank holiday
weekend to partake in the 4 peaks challenge. This challenge involves
climbing the highest peak in each province, which was Corran Tuathail
Ireland’s highest mountain, Lugnaquilla Co Wicklow, Slieve Donard
Mourne Mountains and Mwelrea in Connaught. The team climbed 12000ft and
hiked 40 km in 4 days.
This year’s team was assisted by the
St Pauls scout troop in Waterford who has a long standing association
with Rigney Dolphin.
The challenge was gruelling as, not
only did it involve climbing four of Ireland's highest peaks, but there
was also a lot of road mileage to be covered in a short space of time.
However, whilst there were many sore and aching bodies the Rigney
Dolphin team, conquered all four peaks in the challenge.
The challenge was in aid of both the
Lyons club and the A to Z Children’s Charity. The Lions Club will be
using the money raised to assist with a day out in Tramore for kids
with special needs.
The A to Z Children’s Charity assist
vulnerable children in the developing world, who have been affected by
HIV to receive the same health care and education as any child in the
developed world.
Rigney Dolphin raised over €2000’s
for these two very worthy causes and we would like to thank all of
those involved for their generous support.

Care in the Community
Rigney
Dolphin is committed to being a respected corporate citizen and
employer of choice in Ireland.
We believe in supporting the diverse
communities around us, with our efforts focusing primarily on children,
education and economic development.
We have built strong ties with the
Waterford Scouts and the Simon Community, and many other not for profit
organizations close to our hearts. One of our more recent projects
involved donating 6 computers to the local scout group and one of our
IT team spending time with them each week to instruct them in basic
computing skills.
Jumping out of a plane was not
something we ever thought we’d do but we did it to raise funds for the
Simon Community.
Volunteers from our male staff
members were recently waxed to raise funds for an orphanage in Romania.
We also have a 4 peak challenge
coming up with the Scouts next year, which will see a team from Rigney
Dolphin climb the 4 highest peaks in Ireland in a long weekend.
Whether it is jumping out of a plane
to combat Irish homelessness, getting involved in local youth groups,
or raising funds for those in need overseas, people at Rigney Dolphin
are making a difference year round.
